Štěpánová, Veronika ; Nádvorníková, Olga (advisor) ; Mudrochová, Radka (referee)
Key words: connective, concession, concessive adverb, concessive connective, compétition Abstract: The diploma thesis "Les connecteurs concessifs pourtant, cependant, toutefois, néanmoins, quand même, tout de même" consists of three parts. The goal of the first part was to explain the notion of "concessive connective" (connecteur concessif) in a synchronic perspective. This first part consists on one hand in an attempt to explain the concessive relation (concession), on the other in a definition of the category of concessive connectives used in temporary French. The second part of this diploma thesis is dedicated to a diachronic and quantity-based study of the examined quasi-synonyms for the purpose of clarification of their frequency and competition regarding their usage down to the present day. In addition to these two parts, we reflect in the third part on the current use of concessive connectives, i.e. their use in contemporary written, spoken and pseudo-spoken language (on the Internet).
Types of adverbs in the language of baroque texts and their development
KLIMEŠOVÁ, Markéta
Adverbs constitute an important element in expressing circumstances. In our dissertation we try to present various types of adverbs in the language of texts which date back to 17th and 18th centuries (so-called Baroque period). The word-formation aspect of these adverbs and the development of their meaning are emphasized. Different semantic shifts of adverbs are observed as well as their usage with functions of different parts of speech (usually particles or conjunctions). The development of adverbs found in Baroque texts is compared both with older language period and with some results of their development in contemporary Czech.
Analysis of restrictive rhematizers in Czech and in Spanish
DJUROV, Andrea
This thesis is focused on the study of restrictive focusing adverbs in the Czech and Spanish languages. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part describes the exclusion focusing adverbs in both languages using secondary literature. The practical part uses the parallel corpus to examine what lexical equivalents correspond to individual Czech focusing adverbs, and shows their individual semantic or positional differences in detail.
